Galaxy

Rabindranath Tagore's songs written in Bengali carry deep mystical realization, embraced with universal humanistic values. Each song has a unique subject / content which silently echo a message of truth and eternity, manifesting lyrical emotions. A shining light transcends in the midst of his poetic expression painted with his meaningful words which cannot be translated. In "GALAXY", the poet Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta has made a humble effort to trans- create Tagore's Bengali songs into poems in English language. Her intention was to nectar out the rich philosophical and spiritual thoughts that Tagore beautifully embedded in his writings. The poems are a reflection of Tagore's spirituality amalgamated with the poet's own expression and creative imagination upholding a glimpse of the infinite in the midst of the finite, unity at the heart of all diversity, and the Divine in all beings and things of the universe.
